What's Up Wednesday

When my boys were younger,  their school had a weekly communication system called What's Up Wednesday.  Parent volunteers met on Wednesday mornings and assembled various informational flyers for students to take home to their parents.  It was also a chance to socialize and a great opportunity to meet other parents.  I'm sure this system has been replaced by mass emails and an online home page, but for some reason I've been thinking of those Wednesdays lately.

Here's my quilting themed What's Up Wednesday:
#I-387 Mourning Too Soon made by Diane Gaudynski
Going on now through the 10th is the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative's August online auction.  This auction is special because 20 quilts from the "Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece" exhibit are up for bid.  This is your chance to acquire quilts by nationally acclaimed quilters who rarely sell their work.  Quilters such as Sue Nickels, Diane Gaudynski, and Marsha McCloskey are among others whose quilts are being offered.

The Modern Quilt Guild is gearing up for a 100-day celebration featuring modern quilts and tutorials.  Between now and August 30th they are collecting submissions of tutorials and quilts with stories.  I can't wait to read these blog posts!  Learn more about it here.

Information on the last of four Project Modern challenges is also up on the MQG website.  Have you entered one of the first three challenges?  Will you consider entering this one?  I totally love the winning quilts from Challenge 3.

What information would you include in your What's Up Wednesday?

Have an amazing day!!!!
