Sew & Tell Friday #9

I only have a little project to share today ...

...this one lonely wine bag.  More wine bags are waiting to be created.

I did receive two of the coin quilts back from the longarmer today.  I washed and dried them so now they are ready to go except for the labels.

Wendy did another great job choosing the quilt design and thread.  I've learned to just leave it up to her.  I'm thinking of calling this quilt Sweet Pea.

The sun was going to sleep when I took these pictures, but there is rain in the forecast for tomorrow, so I went with low lighting and no rain.  I really like the quilting on this one too.  I requested different but similar for the three.  How about Cotton Candy for this quilt?  Is there a guide book for naming quilts?  You know like Baby Name books?  If not, there should be.

Have an amazing weekend!!!  See you Monday!!

  1. I love that wine bottle bag - is it from a pattern or did you make it up as you went along? Also those two quilts are gorgeous and so is the quilting. Now I've got to wait for my Kona Cotton to arrive so I can finish my first one. Where do you take your quilts to be quilted? I'm always looking around because you can never know about too many longarm quilters. I actually have taken quilts to one person who is off Hwy 50 on the east side of O-town.

The name Sweet Pea made me smile. Here's my "Sweet Pea":

  4. LOL I really like the idea of a Quilt Name Book!

The wine bag is very festive and looks well made! The detail of the ribbon is too fun!

Your quilts are just gorgeous! Sweet Pea is a great name, but how about "Blossoms" for the other one? I thought immediately of cherry and apple blossoms when I saw it!

Have a wonderful weekend, Rene'! Thanks for sharing your finishes with us!

  8. They look great.

I've never actually named a quilt. But I love reading how others come up with the names for theirs.
