Silk Ribbon Embroidery

Today, my friend Hope and I drove to The Quilt Shop of Deland to take a Silk Ribbon Embroidery class.  We had a wonderful teacher in Cheryl and one other student, Heidi.  Here is a picture of the sample.  It's a little blurry as I forgot to take my camera and had to use my cell phone.

This was a great class, and I learned a lot.  It has been a while since I had used some of those embroidery stitches.  I enjoyed learning a new technique that will allow me to take some projects on the go.

Here is mine in progress.  I hope I do not forget everything Cheryl taught us now that I am home and sewing on my own.  This reminds me of a crewel embroidery picture my mom had made when I was a child.  It brings back such wonderful memories.

  1. I am sorry that one of our many hurricanes took the crewel embroidery picture that you referenced.
