Shop Hopping!

The latest shop hop in my area could not have come at a better time.

When I should have been working, I've been browsing this book that recently arrived on my doorstep.

I really love this pattern!  Of course, I don't have any fabrics that would do this quilt justice.  Hence my excitement with the Shop Hop.

(Lousy picture.  Taken with my cell phone.)

I tweaked my Pinwheels for Peace pattern a little.  I'm finally happy with the design and color layout of the pinwheels.  (The decision on the background/white space is another matter!)  Now I need to start making pinwheels!

I played around with what batiks I had on hand.  First time around I went with white and colored batik.  Don't really like this as much as I thought I would.

Then went with a two tone batik colorway.  I think this works better, especially if I can enough batiks in each color that will provide contrast in each block.  What do you think?

These are 6 inch blocks.  I will probably go with 4 inch blocks to make the quilt size more manageable.

Now to get shopping.  I need quite a bit of colorful batiks!

Have an amazing day!!

  4. Yes, definately the tone on tone batiks!!! Loving the purple. Why do peace signs always make me think of Sonny & Cher? "I got you babe"!!!

  5. I like the white and colored the best, but it probably ends up depending on what you do for the background. Either way will be good.

That Kaffe Fasset book is definitely getting added to the wish list.
