At one time I thought about joining the Stash Report I see going on in blogland, but I got hung up over the numbers...go figure...I used to a CPA ;-) Even though I'm not keeping a spreadsheet on my inventory in versus out, I try to be aware of the net change. I'd like to keep the amount of fabric used higher than what is purchased. For some reason, though, that never seems to happen.
The month of July threw everything into an imbalance and probably would have made my spreadsheet explode if I was really keeping track! I can't help it if I have really sweet friends and family who know how much I'm obsessed with quilting ;-) For example, Tia Vilma sent me this beautiful fabric with a note saying "I hope this helps support your quilting habit". Is my obsession that obvious?!
It must be because my mom got me a generous gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop for my birthday which resulted in this big box being delivered! The above picture shows some of what was inside...lots and lots of solids, some Kaffe and some sale fabrics. Aren't moms the best?!
Dads are pretty great too. My Dad sent me a box of old vestments for me to use in my quilting. This picture shows just a few. There's some gorgeous fabric in this collection. I'm going to really have to think of a special project before cutting into these. Any one have any ideas or experience with using religious vestments in a quilt?
July is also a time for vacations which can include side trips to the quilt store. Remember how I oohed and aaahed over Quilting in the Country? This fuzzy picture of Kaffe fabrics shows some goodies I purchased there.
If I was keeping track, these bags of fabric wouldn't count. They were just relocated from Montana to Florida ;-)
Now to just find some time to USE these glorious fabrics!
Have an amazing day!!!
Well that should keep you busy for a while!
ReplyDeleteI hope you work on your Amish challenge quilt so we can see our two quilts finished on Tonya's new site she is making just for finished quilts :0) from the challenge.
Are you going to make a quilt for your Dad from the
hand me down vestments? I hope your creative wheels are spinning:0)
Did I already tell you I use to live in Altamonte Springs and work at Florida hospital as an ICU nurse? Ahhhh the good old days......now I am a kept woman who gets to do whatever I want everyday......its the life :0)
Happy sewing
Great stash additions! I adore that black and white fish print!
ReplyDeleteI AM keeping track, and it's getting downright depressing! And here I was so sure that I was just using so much and not really bringing in that much -- yeah, right! But I'll never turn down gift fabric!!!
