I am so glad it is Friday and SO glad I am finished with this quilt!!!
The Feeling Groovy quilt is finally completed! It seems my quilt pictures are always taken on my porch steps;-) For a change of pace, this was taken on the front porch rather than the back, but it still looks the same.
Here is another view. My daughter took this picture while I held up the quilt. Again, trying for something different, it was taken in the front of the house. During the photo shoot, I felt conspicuous wondering what the neighbors thought ;-) I think I'll go back to the backyard for backdrops.
I don't know if you can tell, but I just quilted this in a grid fashion. I didn't want to detract from the peace sign, so I kept it simple. I also felt this wasn't the quilt to practice my free motion quilting! There are no pictures of the back, but it is the same tie dye batik as the binding.
Tomorrow is the school auction, and I hope this quilt raises a decent amount. The theme is That 70's Prom. Ironically, a bunch of us girls are going without dates our husbands. That's OK....it will remind me of high school (no date then either for the prom) ;-)))
Max came home from the groomer with a peace bandana. How appropriate is that?!?
Enjoy all the Sew and Tell Friday links.
Have an amazing weekend!!!!!
Rene', it's gorgeous!! I'm crossing my fingers for your auction tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteYikes! It's Friday again already?! Your quilt is simply gorgeous. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteRene', that is amazing! It will be the star of the auction. I can't believe all your geraniums, etc. are in such full bloom after such a cold winter. I'm guessing the husbands aren't going so they don't have to bid!

ReplyDeleteWowee! That looks like a million bucks, and I hope it brings in that much at auction. Congratulations on this fabulous finish - and for drafting the pattern, which is a daunting task in itself! I've really enjoyed watching it come along!

ReplyDeleteHi Renee -- I just found your site and I LOVE this quilt! Can you tell me did you create the pattern or did your purchase it? This would be great for a graduation gift for a special young lady I know. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know or if I can purchase it from you if you created it. Thank you in advance!!
