Welcome everyone! It's quilt festival time again. I am sharing Fifty Kisses, the quilt I made my sister for her 50th birthday.
The quilt consists of 50 5.5" cross blocks using fifty different Cotton+Steel prints plus one oversize block (11" representing one to grow on). The binding is the Melody Miller view master print.
Carolyn Friedlander crosshatch in blue was used for the background and the same print but in black was used for the backing.
Guild member Frank Palmer quilted this beautifully giving the quilt such a nice texture that came out nice and crinkly after washing and drying.

Very cute!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cool quilt! I loved seeing it in person at our retreat this summer. Clever design idea for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful quilt. I love the texture created by the quilting.
ReplyDeleteLove the sentiment of this quilt for your sister. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI have also shared a quilt in the scrappy category. You will find me with the pumpkin on the quilt if you would like to take a peek. Janita
Such a great idea for a quilt! I'm sure your sister will always treasure it.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the idea for it? It will be hard to do better on the next one.
Lovely quilt and such a fun mix of fabric. The name, concept and layout is just so special - sisters are the best! Fun entry in the festival
ReplyDeleteGreat choice! I love the blue background.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Blue is my favorite color, so I'm really digging this quilt's background to start with, but it's story is just so nice. :)
