When I was in Washington last week visiting my grandson, we stayed in Seattle and pretended to be tourists, which technically I am.
|
view from the ferry |
First I had to arrange the Leo swap from his other grandmother. Then....
|
text between grandmothers! |
|
from Bainbridge Island |
We rode the ferry....
|
only in Seattle! |
stayed at a hotel.....
|
it's the little things ;-) |
where we pushed some buttons....
|
since we didn't bring our own pet they gave us a fish...temporarily |
and took care of our own fish....
|
had to buy a cheap-o stroller because parents forgot to pack one |
We went to the zoo....
|
pink flamingos |
where we spent most of the time with flamingos...
|
it was rather hot this day |
and brought one home with us....
|
the pretend one |
We took the Monorail to the Children's Museum...
|
Flamingo came with us |
where Leo was super excited to play with other kids...
|
I'll take it |
and I got a discounted ticket....
|
Yum |
We ate sugared almonds....
|
hmmm....maybe too much sugar in those almonds |
before heading back to the hotel to Leo's favorite activity....
|
Leo kept pointing to my phone requesting "Ally" "Eric" |
and FaceTiming with Ally (and Eric and the parents)....
We even randomly found a quilt shop....
|
cute shop...not great cell phone pictures |
really...it was random and not planned...
|
Leo and I met the owner Linda and made a couple of purchases |
and visited the downtown library (no pictures of that field trip).
|
I got my exercise |
After saying goodbye to Leo, I consoled myself with a trip to the
Chihuly Exhibit.
|
No words!!!! |
Those pictures deserve a post all in itself.....

Thanks for stopping by,
Looks like you had an exhausting and fun visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time you had! It's wonderful that you got to spend one-on-one time with him like that. Believe, with two, it's much more challenging! That pink flamingo is adorable, and looks like the perfect keepsake from his Florida grandma. Hope he remembers your time together when he gets older. So precious.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend. I'll bet you were exhausted! I laughed when you wrote about the cheapie stroller--I have two of those (also purchased in emergencies!). Lovely, just lovely.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a whirlwind trip full of fun activities! Thanks so much for sharing a postcard with me. It made my day. xo
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun trip! And I know what you mean about the Chihuly glass- it's just gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time with Leo. So many lovely memories...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - looks like you and Leo had a fantastic time. It is wonderful that you get to see him regularly even though he's on the other side of the U.S. Underground Quilts was one neat quilt shop. It is where I found the pattern and fabrics for Em's Ladybug quilt I made several years ago (my first appliqué project)...
ReplyDeleteI would love to go out to Seattle again for a visit - I just love it because it is such a change from hot FL...and the green of the lawns and flowers...goodness!
What fun! I love the flamingo and the borrowed fish.
