Happy July!!! Another month means a new
MCM Bee block. I can't wait to see what
Deborah has prepared for us.

April block for Carla |
In the meantime, here are pictures of my April through June bee blocks that I haven't shown you.
Carla requested blocks to make her own
Green Tea and Sweet Beans quilt. My hand applique skills are non-existent so I chose to make a
Tulip Lady Fingers block. Her preference of text prints as background fabrics was a good excuse to cut into my stash.

May block for Suz |
Suz sent background fabric for her feather blocks and asked for turquoise and orange fabrics for the actual feathers. I had no problem finding these colors in my scrap bin. We used the
Anna Maria Horner feather pattern.

June block for Linda |
For June,
Linda asked for help in completing a
WIP and requested
stacked brick blocks using Kona Ash and Kona White with fabric strips of strawberry and lime. I have made this block before and it's trickier than it looks. I do love the scrap-busting feature of this block and Linda's idea of using two different background colors.

Let the vacation begin! |
I am traveling once again so my posts will be sporadic (what's new, right?!) until I return home from two weddings and a quilt retreat.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy stitching,
Your blocks look great! I'm sure the recipients will be very pleased. See ya tomorrow!! Doesn't that sound great??? :-)
ReplyDeleteAll you blocks are lovely! I love my feather! I agree about Linda's block being more difficult than it looks, but well worth it! Enjoy your time away!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are all terrific. You sure have a way with fabric selection, and your execution is just great.
ReplyDeleteI cannot get over how much you travel! Are you married to an airline pilot!?! Gosh, I think it's a big deal when I leave The Villages! It's great to see you enjoying quilting in between family activities. You do great work.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah! I need to go and check! Yep--agree with you about Linda's block. More than once I had to chop some off, or go find another leader/ender piece to make up the length. A good challenge.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weddings and retreat. Wish I was going on a quilting retreat.
ReplyDeleteTerrific blocks!
ReplyDeleteOk. So I wonder how I missed this? I love my block and I think I can start assembling my quilt soon : ) Thanks Renee
