Not much sewing going on around here to tell about, but I did finish one little thing which allows me to participate this week in Sew and Tell ;-)
This little house mini is finally finished. I had to rip out and redo the binding. I had planned on this heading to AAQI, but even with the redo, the binding is not up to par ;-(
I finally managed a picture of the fabric I purchased yesterday when I played hooky from packing.
More fun fabric purchased. All these goodies are going into a new quilt for my daughter.
Today is day two of moving. Last night we slept in the new house. I just wandered around not knowing which box to unpack first. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend?
Enjoy browsing through the Sew and Tell posts.
Have an amazing weekend!!!
Love the mini! I want to try that black blanket stitch. It looks so neat!
ReplyDeleteThe little house is cute and the binding looks fine in the picture. I hope you are going to love your new house! It will be fun for your daughter to have a new quilt for her new bedroom!
ReplyDeleteOh boy! The first night in the new house - exciting and exhausting at the same time :) It drives me nuts when I finish something, but am not pleased with it. I agree with Anne that the binding looks fine, but I also understand that if you're not happy with it, that's just the way it is. I love the new fabrics you picked out for your daughter's quilt. Hope the unpacking and settling goes smoothly - just remember to take breaks...often.
ReplyDeleteLove the little quilt and those cheerful new fabrics, they will make a lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteHappy new-house-weekend
Congratulations on your new home! Fabrics look lovely!
ReplyDeleteNot much sewing going on here either!! So tired from activities, that all I can do is drool over other people's sewing and quilting at the end of the day!! There is always next week!!
ReplyDeleteStill praying for the move!!
Blessings,
KT
Love the mini. I'm working on a neighborhood quilt myself :)

Love that little house and the pretty fabric purchases!! I bet your anxious to get that sewing machine set up!
ReplyDeleteI love those little projects and yours looks like fun! I think we all have had our share of bad bindings. They sometimes just don't want to cooperate. My advice is to just dive in and open the first box you see. Before you know it, it's all put away. Good luck!
ReplyDeletei get a little lost when i unpack! the mini is really cute. i love the pile of fabric you have for your daughter.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Binding is so hard to get right sometimes! I sometimes put off projects just because I dread binding at the end! lol.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you did it though! The house is super cute, and I really like the way you quilted around things.
What a really cool little quilt! I don't know how you do your bindings, but I've found the technique in the back of one of the quilting magazines, Quilts and More, I think, called Better Bindings. It works great for me every time! Your fabric is gorgeous and makes me want to go to the fabric store - must resist!! Good luck on the unpacking!!
ReplyDeletecute little mini, I really like the quilting on it! Good luck unpacking :o)
ReplyDeleteI am really loving this mini! The echo quilting is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteCute little house and pretty new fabrics! Enjoy your weekend as you get your bearings in your new place.
ReplyDeleteAdorable little mini! Enjoy your new house and survive unpacking! :)
ReplyDeleteIn one move I put boxes into a closet to get to them later and promptly forgot all about them...they were discovered when we were packing up onto the next move.
The mini quilt is cute. I'm glad you have the moving out of the way, and hope that the unpacking part goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteHappy New House!
